Miss Matisyn Humphrey was named the 2009 Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska during Nebraskaland Days Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant. She is the daughter of Chuck & Rochelle Humphrey. Matisyn has 2 younger sisters, Makenzi & Myranda and a younger brother, Billy. During the Pageant, Matisyn won the areas of speech, appearance, and photogenic.
Matisyn will be a freshman this year at Perkin’s County High School. Her school activities include volleyball, basketball, track, FFA, Speech Team and Mock Trail. She enjoys attending 4-H Horse Club and Shows, rodeo, 4-D Barrel Races, spending time with her friends, church youth activities and training her horses.
Since the age of 8, Matisyn has enjoyed feeling the wind on her face. She spent many hours at this age learning everything she could about horses. Enjoyed taking part of all the horse shows she could get a ride too. Bought her first horse at the age of nine with her own savings and assumed all the responsibilities that come with a horse and her smile.
Matisyn’s motto is “keep your F.O.C.U.S”. First and foremost have
Faith in God, make Opportunities happen for yourself, have the
Courage to go out a get what you want and stand up for your beliefs, recognize your
Uniqueness, and define what Success means to you. These are the things that will keep you moving forward and help you achieve your goals. Live each day with a thankful heart, work hard, and put others before yourself.
Matisyn Humphrey of Ogallala, Nebraska was crowned Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2009 at the Queen’s Speech Breakfast held at the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte today.
Matisyn is the 14 year old daughter of Chuck and Rochelle Humphrey of Ogallala, Nebraska. One of her goals during her reign is to be a positive role model for youth.
First Runner up in this year’s teen pageant was Shylee Hewitt.
